Monte de Torquines is the restoration and reinterpretation of a traditional Alentejo farmhouse, designed to blend naturally into the surrounding landscape. Completed in 2024, the project combines contemporary architecture with the simplicity and traditional materials of the region.

Monte de Torquines offers two fully independent studios designed to provide comfort, privacy, and tranquillity. Each studio has direct access to the pool and the surrounding landscapes of the Alentejo countryside.

The studios

Each studio features a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, comfortable bedroom, and private bathroom, offering everything needed for an independent and relaxed stay. Guests also have access to the outdoor spaces and swimming pool, perfect for enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the property.

Double Studio

Maximum capacity: 2 adults and up to 2 children (up to 12 years old).

A bright and thoughtfully designed studio where the simplicity of the space highlights the comfort of your stay. Designed as an open-plan space, it includes a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, and living area with a sofa bed, creating a spacious and functional setting. The studio also features a bedroom with a double bed and a private bathroom with a shower, as well as direct access to the swimming pool.

Twin Studio

Maximum capacity: 2 adults and up to 2 children (up to 12 years old).

A comfortable and serene studio, ideal for guests who prefer separate beds. The space includes a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, and living area with a sofa bed, maintaining a simple and functional layout. It features a bedroom with two single beds and a private bathroom with a bathtub. The studio also benefits from direct access to the outdoor swimming pool and includes an integrated alcove with built-in seating.

Este sítio é uma verdadeira jóia para quem procura um refúgio tranquilo com uma família anfitriã muito querida e prestável! Os pequenos-almoços foram autênticos banquetes, tudo delicioso, desde o sumo de laranja espremido na hora aos pães e croissants quentinhos! Ficámos no estúdio Oeste e gostámos muito. O Projecto de Arquitectura é muito giro e a obra é muito recente, por isso, está tudo por estrear. Tudo muito bem limpo e confortável. Não podia recomendar mais! A cereja no topo do bolo foi a minha filha ter companhia para brincar.
This place is a true gem for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat with a lovely, helpful host family! The breakfasts were real feasts, everything delicious, from the freshly squeezed orange juice to the warm bread and croissants! We stayed in the West studio and loved it. The architecture project is really nice and the build is very recent, so everything is brand new. Everything very clean and comfortable. I couldn't recommend it more! The cherry on top was my daughter having other children to play with.

We stayed at Monte de Torquines for four nights with our six year old son Sasha, and it was exactly the reset we needed. Absolute tranquility doesn't even begin to describe how quiet it is here — the silence at night is almost startling in the best way, and the night sky is incredible, the kind of star-blanketed view you forget still exists. And yet you're still only a 45–70 minute drive from some of the world's most amazing beaches, so you get total seclusion without giving up easy access to the coast. The pool is perfect — peaceful, well-kept, and just the right size to unwind in after a day out. The apartment itself is beautifully laid out, and everything about the space feels incredibly thoughtfully considered, down to the smallest details. It's clear a lot of care went into making the place both comfortable and calming. We'd happily come back and would recommend it to anyone looking for a genuinely peaceful escape in the Alentejo.
